December 5th and 6th, Sirens played host to the Brisbane Goannas. The Goannas hit the board first thanks to Emma Gray. Sirens Kath McOnie (Sharna Godfrey) scored a goal with 56 seconds left in the first ending the period tied at 1. Sydney forged ahead again with goals from McOnie (Godfrey, Amelia Matheson) and Andrea Steranko (Godfrey, Remi Harvey) until Goannas Kelly Costa narrowed the lead 3-2. Sirens pulled ahead with a goal from Matheson (Lara Azzopardi, Sharnita Crompton) but the Goannas brought the score back within one with a goal from Tiffany Venning. Sirens were able to hold the fighting Goannas off with a goal from Godfrey (McOnie) ending the period 5-3. The third period got a bit sloppy for the Sirens. They fought hard to keep the Goannas at bay, but Brisbane was able to add one more to the board with a goal from Georgia Giblin making the final score 5-4. Saturday's game also marked the return of Sera Dogramaci to the crease (albeit to the opposition) after a 10 month hiatus and 7 weeks after giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. She stood strong in the net, stopping 49 of 51 shots.
